I’ve got Secrets to Reveal!

Okay, so I talk about books a lot…but y’all ask me questions about me. So, I’m going to share with you a fast fifteen things you may not know, everything from my thoughts on the existence of aliens to my guilty pleasures. I’d love it if you’d answer in the comments. Maybe we have something in common!

Do you make your bed? When I’m forced to.

What’s your favorite number? 11. It’s always been lucky for me.

What is your dream job? I have it! I wanted to be an author when I was 18…

If you could, would you go back to school? No. Been there, got my degree. I’m done.

Can you parallel park? I used to be good at it. Now…probably not so much.

Name a job you had which people would be shocked to know: Balloon girl at an amusement park.

Do you think aliens are real? Mathematically, it seems possible, but I’m undecided.

Can you drive a stick shift? Love it!

Guilty Pleasure? Makeup, video games, and YouTube. Now, anyway. Tomorrow? Who knows…

How many U.S. States have you visited? 34

Do you talk to yourself? Probably more than I should, but that’s how I meet the characters in my head.

Do you like doing puzzles? Love them!

Favorite Music? I like so much music. I’m super eclectic about it. The shorter list would be what music I don’t like. Hip hop and Reggae.

Something people are surprised to learn about you? Other than writing, I’m not at all creative. Can’t even sew a button.

First thing you remember you wanted to be growing up? A dancer.

And that’s it. Now you know some secrets about me.

Don’t forget to answer the questions above in the comments so I know some secrets about you, too!

Shayla Black is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than sixty novels. For twenty years, she’s written contemporary, erotic, paranormal, and historical romances via traditional, independent, foreign, and audio publishers. Her books have sold millions of copies and been published in a dozen languages.

Raised an only child, Shayla occupied herself with lots of daydreaming, much to the chagrin of her teachers. In college, she found her love for reading and realized that she could have a career publishing the stories spinning in her imagination. Though she graduated with a degree in Marketing/Advertising and embarked on a stint in corporate America to pay the bills, her heart has always been with her characters. She’s thrilled that she’s been living her dream as a full-time author for the past nine years.

Shayla currently lives in North Texas with her wonderfully supportive husband, her teenage daughter, and two spoiled tabbies. In her “free” time, she enjoys reality TV, reading, and listening to an eclectic blend of music.

If you could, would you go back to school? Up until a couple years ago, yes. Not anymore. Turning 50 shut that shit down. Too many other ways to learn what I want to still learn!
    Can you parallel park? Absolutely.
Name a job you had which people would be shocked to know: I worked for a while in Hollywood with a woman who was the curator for the Edith Head collection. We would transport original costumes to charity events for models to wear. Think Marilyn Monroe, Joan Crawford, Mae West. It was a weird job.

Can you drive a stick shift? Yes.

Do you talk to yourself? All the time! It’s from being a waitress…and living alone.
Do you like doing puzzles? Absolutely.
Favorite Music? Classic Rock – like R&R HOF stuff. U2, Zepplin, Doors. I like newer stuff too, I just don’t know the names of any of it!
Something people are surprised to learn about you? My age, my weird phobia of the color/flavor Orange, and that I used to play in a rock band in LA in the late 80’s.
First thing you remember you wanted to be growing up? A rock star.
