I’m excited to welcome this awesome Aussie to the blog. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Kylie in person last summer, and she’s absolutely witty. And her Stage Dive novels are so, so yummy…
Please say hello to Kylie Scott…
Name a move you’ve seen at least five times and why it’s a favorite.
“The Lost Boys”. I takes me back to my teen years. Plus, those are some really pretty boys with big eighties hair and fangs. And then there’s the soundtrack. I pretty much love everything about it.
List five adjectives you’d use to describe yourself.
Sometimes lazy, occasionally weird, always awkward, a voracious reader, and lover of words.
Name one funny/quirky trait you have others may not know about?
I am ridiculously clumsy. No item of clothing gets away without coffee or something being spilt on it. If I like a top, I tend to buy a couple of them because inevitably I will somehow manage to destroy them.
Caffeine of choice: tea, coffee, or soda?
Coffee.
What does your work space look like?
I have a small office with a computer desk and a spare desk for handwriting plotting and notes etcetera. Or for just dumping my junk on. There’s houseplants, my collection of wood and ceramic skulls, and lots of books and notebooks.
Describe your ideal romantic evening.
Heading into the city for a night at a hotel I like with a great view of the city lights and a wonderful cocktail bar and restaurant. Basically just me and him taking a night off away from it all.
Where is your bucket-list vacation?
I’ve always wanted to visit Czechoslovakia. I don’t know why. I guess it just always seemed like it would be a fascinating beautiful place rich with history.
What is something you cherish for its sentimental value?
I kept a couple of the dresses my now teenage daughter wore when she was just a toddler. They’re so sweet and tiny. She’s taller than me now. They grow incredibly fast.
Plotter or panster and why?
I’m a bit of a mix. I have start with a solid idea for the first scene and then start building my story from there. Often I only plot a few scenes ahead to keep things fresh in my head. The few times I’ve tried plotting out the whole story from start to finish, my imagination was then bored with the project and didn’t want to cough up the words.
What music are you listening to? Do you play it while you write?
Sometimes I’ll make up a playlist for a book, but usually I don’t listen to music when I write. I’m a bit too distractable.
What is your next upcoming release?
“Repeat” is out as an Audible Original in January with an ebook release April 9.
When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she’s forced to start over. Now she has figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did – which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before.
Ed can hardly believe it when his ex shows up at his tattoo parlor with no memory of their past, asking about the breakup that nearly destroyed him. The last thing he needs is more heartache, but he can’t seem to let her go again. Should they walk away for good, or does their love deserve a repeat performance?
Last but not least, what’s YOUR Shayla Black kiss?
Nibbled on my ear by Carson Frost.
