Old and New and Uh Oh

Category: Uncategorized

This weekend, I’ve been dealing with a variety of things…starting with my washing machine. It works, but it’s old. I got it shortly after I got married, so it’s of another decade–and it looks like it. But I could live with that. What I can’t live with is all the fabric softener that’s been sticking to the insides. I also made the mistake of washing my cat’s bed and now there’s cat hair everywhere. And other assorted gunk up under the lid…and I know I’ve just grossed you out. So I started cleaning it out with antiseptic wipes. Used about half a container of the wipes. Washer is cleaner, so now I can start laundry. Yippee… Don’t I live such a glamorous life?

On the bright side, yesterday I retired my hand-me-down Blackberry. I had been counting the days, seriously. The screen on my old phone was cracked and the volume was always low. No one ever called me because I’d never hear it ring. It just never worked right, so it’s been replaced with a handy, dandy new touch-screen phone. So far I love it, but I’m very aware that I have A LOT to learn about how to work it. I’ve got my email set up, learned how to pick up voicemails, send texts. Still trying to master the camera and speakerphone. Electronics and I don’t always get along, but I’ll endeavor.

The uh-oh part is my revisions on SEDUCE ME IN SHADOW. I was supposed to be done by tomorrow, but it’s taking me a bit longer than I thought. I’m thinking the extra effort will be worth it in the end. Fingers crossed that I finish next week.

I’ll be back tomorrow with some no-cal man candy. Have a great evening!

I know the feeling of a glamorous life, some family came to stay last weekend and while I was in Texas getting some books signed by this wonderful author ;) ,their 2 year old decided to flush 2 bars of soap down my toilet. UGH! A week later and my toliet still isn’t working right. I really don’t want to call a plumber. But it looks like I have to.

My fingers are cross for you and looking forward to some man candy!

OMG! Don’t we all have that glamorous life! I’ve been dealing with that exact washer issue! How frustrating! We got ours as a wedding gift about 11 years ago, so while being old, I understand your pain! As a matter of fact, I need to clean mine as well, I know the fabric softener issue! It is getting all over our clothes as well! Any words of wisdom or handy tricks you can pass on?
Can’t wait for the man candy! I’ll need it after tackling my washer! *dreading*

I know all about the gunk that accumulates at the top of a Washer. I’ve had to clean out my washing maching a few times because of my allergies. Whenever a blanket that has been used outside gets washed, I always open up the machine and find pieces of grass that I have to clean out. It’s always a good feeling, though, after the maching is clean again and I can start washing my clothes.

    Good luck with your revision!

I have been a little behind in checking out the website but now I am all caught up. The new covers–there is something about a half naked man walking towards you. I also love the faceless covers, just let’s your imagination run wild.
I had to retire my washer last years after 18 dedicated and loyal years. Very sad moment. My new one took me three days and five loads to figure it out. I miss my old one!!!

Having washing machine troubles isn’t an April Fools joke. I was a 2nd generation Maytag owner until our move in ’08. Really happy with my LG front loader. It cleans my construction hubby’s work clothes better and saves on water.
