So Maybe I Don’t Get It…

Category: Uncategorized

I was shopping with some family and friends recently. Everyone there was either there for shoes or purses. Like $400 shoes and purses. Coach bags and shoes with names I can’t even pronounce. I guess this is a really girly-girly kind of thing, and most women are into this. I’m really hard on shoes. And after many years of dance, I have lousy feet and refuse to wear anything uncomfortable. And I’m really functional when it comes to purses. If it doesn’t have an easy place for me to stow make-up and phone, keys, money, etc. – a place where I can just reach in and feel around and find the exactly pocket I keep them – PLUS I have to be able to fit a book in there, as well as a pad and pen, and anything else I deem necessary at the moment. I LOVE functional multi-pocket backpacks. I know, I know… Not the height of fashion, but together with my low-heeled sandals, I am happy! Am I alone here?

No, you’re not alone. I have one bag that I use every day (Fossil bought at an outlet mall) with lots of pockets, and about half a dozen COMFORTABLE shoes :-). And I can’t begin to imagine spending $400 on shoes or a bag – that’s scary!!!

I have a purse that I bought on clearance 3 years ago. And I do not buy my shoes unless they are on sale because I go through shoes like crazy. So no you are not alone but there are limited number of people like us.

Now, I love shoes and purses and have quite a few… well a lot of both, I have to admit that I am the queen of low priced styles but comfort is VERY important to me. Nine West has the most amazing and comfotable shoes and there purses are excellent. I tend to shop at Marshalls for the best off there clearance racks for shos and purses, you never know what you may find.

Nope -you’re not alone. Maybe some day, I tell myself, I’ll buy one of those things when I can afford it. But… who knows. There is a difference in quality – if it’s authentic, and you get a good purse – or shoes – but for now… heck – I even wear clothes from years and years ago. I’m a fashionista’s nightmare. :D

No you are not alone. I love purses. If I can fit a book and anything else I need in it I am happy with the purse. I have a few purses that my best friend bought me and I love them. I switch up depending on my mood and the color I am wearing that day. I also do love tote bags the bigger the better for my books LoL

Me I am not a shoes person. I like flat sandals no heels don’t like them not very comfy at all. See I am not that picky I just like to be comfortable ;)

I love the kind of backpack that you describe and have been using backpacks instead of purses for at least 12 years now.

I don’t care about name brand stuff at all. I strictly use purses from the 50′s and 60′s because I think they’re cool, and if I’m going somewhere special. For everyday use, I carry one bag that holds everything but the kitchen sink!

I totally agree with your post! I would rather spend that money on nice chocolates or a really yummy meal. Lucky there’s room in this world for everyone’s own style and preferred spending habits!

I am a girly girl. I don’t buy the $400 bags though. I am not a frivolous girly girl.

As for shoes…well…I love comfort but will torture myself for style.

Just add me to the list when it comes to comfort first. I’m on my feet alot, so I stick to tennis shoes while I’m at work, and they are my first choice for casual wear as well. If the weather is hot, then it’s a cushioned sandal. A purse with all the right pockets, can sometimes make all the difference between having a good day or having a bad day.
